About

Jason Hudson has photographed around 2,000 weddings across Arkansas since 1997. Candid, documentary and artistic coverage, shot and edited by him alone.

Approach

The work is documentary first. A wedding is photographed the way it actually happens, which means waiting for things rather than arranging them, and standing close enough to catch a look that lasts half a second. Classic, artistic and real is the shortest way to put it. I do not create the fun, I photograph it.

I photograph every wedding I book. Nobody is subcontracted in my place, and a second photographer comes along only when the day genuinely calls for one. I carry several professional Nikon bodies, backup lenses and backup flashes, because equipment that fails at a wedding cannot be apologised for afterwards.

The work has been named Best of the Best by The Knot, WeddingWire, Citiscapes, Celebrate Magazine and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and has taken national first-place awards from the Wedding Photojournalist Association. Galleries arrive in two to four weeks, hand-edited by me, as high-resolution downloads with no watermarks and full printing rights.
